As a body repair technician you will learn all aspects of body repair . You will learn how to recognise the various materials used on vehicles and the prep that is needed to be done before handing vehicle over to paint technician. What might a typical day in this job look like? Paint technicians are responsible for preparing vehicles to be painted after they have been repaired. This can go from repairing minor scratches and matching the paintwork with the rest of the vehicle or respraying a complete vehicle. Duties include: Ensuring all parts are stripped from the vehicle in order for it to be painted. Sanding down relevant areas and adjoining areas for blending Masking out areas that will need to be treated Etching and priming the area to be treated Selecting, mixing and matching colour |
